Woman's Day

We never owe our existence and celebration to the business interest of greetings card companies. We always have mixed opinions about Whys and Hows of Valentine Days or even many in line like Dad's day, Mom's Day, Friend's Day et all. The busy west always mark a day for special ones because they can only afford to spare more than a day for their poor aged moms and dads. They reach them out in old age homes where they yearn for a embrace of the grown up child whom they taught to be free.
But despite blind aping of the West in a small section of the society, here we cling to the older generations - truly relishing golden oldies. Here we celebrate with them for the whole year.
Now, this time 8th March is internationally celebrated as Woman's Day.It's about girl child, woman as daughter, as spouse, as mother or as friend or colleague or as a leader or nation builder.
Yesterday I was deeply in study of Goddess Kali and I discovered that there is no better symbolism of woman power than Ma Kali - in her destructive designs as well as the preserver of universal conscience.Kali is "Kala" or black at the same time kali is about "Kal" time . Black or darkness signifies the creation's beginning where there was no light. Kali standing on an inactive Shiva, lying down, indicates the creation of Brahman or knowledge from the unconscious state of being. It defines the conflict and the duality of life - Kali and Shiva in separable in the growth of the universe. Kali holding beheaded in her hand signifies the Ego of man. One has to surrender the ego at the alter of knowledge to attain the state of Bliss. And the color black is a color of power that absorbs all other colors of light. And the sword flashing in her hand is the symbol of knowledge.Kali has many facades. The Bhadrakali is the manifestation of Kali in Peace.
So, why and how to link Woman's Day with the prayer of Kali's arrival? Because, global male bastions have had a Humpty Dumpty Fall economically world over. Discussion in sincere corridors of power is that women can run business better than men and women don't take decisions on the rush of adrenaline. That's biological.
On emotional level, we men cannot be what we are without the sacrifices made through our lives by women remaining behind the screen.I am indebted to my mother, to my sisters and to my spouse, and last but not the least by the women pals. Without these people I would not have arrived.
So, I dedicate this page to the Woman Power of the Universe .Free your bondage,be the Knowledge, acquire the best traditions like the "Paramahansa", spread simplicity and love to all the corners, train the menfolk about dignity and how to work hard to attain goals while keeping dignity in tact.
On a look back, had we not had Mr.Hitler we would not have world war I and II. Had we not had Mr.Bush Sr and Junior we would not have 9/11. People in India say, we would not have faced 26/11 had we had Indira Gandhi at the helm.
